In the name of God Amen I Sarah Prissick of Carlton in the County and Diocese of York Widow being indisposed in Body but of sound and perfect disposing mind and memory praised be God for it And considering the uncertainty of this life and in order to prevent disputes and differences after my decease do constitute and make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following hereby revokeing and annulling all former and other Will and Wills by me at any time heretofore made and this only to be my last Will and Testament
First and principally I committ my Soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it And my body to the ground from whence it came hoping through the meritts death and passion of my dear Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ to obtain pardon and remission for all my Sins And to rise with him in Glory at the generall Judgement
And Whereas a power is vested in me by my Marriage Settlement to charge all and every the premises therein mentioned with the sume of Two Thousand pounds for and as portions for my younger children to be raised by the Trustees therein mentioned I do therefore in pursuance of the said power so in me vested as aforesd Charge all and every the premises in my said marriage settlement mentioned with the sume of one thousand Pounds of lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid to such persons and in such proportions as is hereinafter mentioned (that is to say)
To my Daughter Sarah Lowty Wife of William Lowty the sume of One hundred pounds of lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid to my said Daughter Sarah Lowty within the space of Four years next after my decease and I do hereby charge all the Lands and Premises in my Marriage Settlement contained with the payment of the said sume of One hundred pounds to my said Daughter Sarah Lowty to be paid to her within the time before mentioned
I also give and bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth Rice wife of John Rice the sume of Two hundred pounds to be paid to her within the space of Four years also next after my decease and I do hereby charge all and every the Lands and Premises in my said Marriage Settlement contained with the payment of the said sume of Two hundred pounds to my said daughter Elizabeth Rice within the space of four years as aforesd.
I also Give and Bequeath to my daughter Ann Gyles Wife of William Gyles the Sume of Three hundred pounds of lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid to her with the space of Three years next after my decease And I do hereby charge all and every the Lands and Premises also in my said Marriage Settlemt contained with the payment of the said sume of Three hundred pounds to my said daughter Ann Gyles within the space of Three years as aforesd.
I also Give and Bequeath to my Daughter Bate Prissick the sume of Four Hundred pounds of like lawfull money to be paid to her within Three years next after my decease and I do hereby also charge all and every the Lands and Premises in my said Marriage Settlement mention'd with the payment of the said four hundred pounds to my said Daughter Bate Prissick within the time above mentioned for payment thereof I also Give and Bequeath to my said Daughter Bate Prissick a Silver Dish and Laddle Two silver plates Two Gold spoons one large silver salver one silver Coffee Pott one Silver Tea Pott and all other the furniture belonging to a Tea Table Also all the Furniture now in and belonging to the Room wherein I now lodge also one piece of tapestry now in a Chest in the Garrett also a black Jappan'd Cabbinett standing in my best Chamber also my now horse One Gold Thimble and a Jappan'd Box
I also Give and Bequeath to my said Daughter Ann Gyles one Diamond Buckle One Candle Cup one Coco Nutt Tankard one Diamond Ring Two Gold Spoons and half of my Pearle Necklace
I also Give and Bequeath to my said daughter Elizabeth Rice one pair of Gold Buckles and Locketts
I also Give and Bequeath to my Grandson Charles Prissick one silver Monteth
I also Give and Bequeath to my Son Codrington John Prissick all the rest residue and remainder of my Plate and household goods not herein before mentioned Two silver Tankard only excepted
I also Give and Bequeath to my Grandson Christopher Prissick all and every my stock of horses mares Cows and other live Cattle whatsoever and also two silver tankards And Whereas an account is now depending between me and Mr George Prissick which amount remains unsettled the ballance whereof I apprehend will be in my favour I therefore desire that the Trustees hereinafter mention'd or some Two of them will see the said amount settled as soon as convenient may be after my decease and take and pay the ballance thereof to or place the same out for the benefitt and advantage of my said Grandson Christopher Prissick
And I do hereby nominate and appoint my very good Friends James Hustler of Acklam Esqr William Turner of [?Chirk?] Esqr William Gyles of London Gent and George Prissick of Lyth Gent Trustees and Guardians for my said Grandson Christopher Prissick during his Nonage and do earnestly desire they will take that trouble upon them and see that this my will be fulfilled and act in such manner as they shall think most advantagious for my said Grandson Christopher Prissick And I do Give and Bequeath to each and every of the said Trustees the sume of Ten pounds of lawfull money of Great Britain upon condition they all act for and as Trustees as is herein before mentioned but if they do not all Act to such only as shall take the Trouble upon them I Give the said sume or sumes of Ten pounds And Whereas there is a debt upwards of Forty pounds due to me from Henry Peirse of Bedale Esqr I do Give and Bequeath the same to the said James Hustler William Turner William Giles and George Prissick upon Trust nevertheless that they pay the same as is hereinafter mention'd that is to say to my Goddaughter Ann Prissick daughter of George Prissick the sume of Three pounds To John Dennison my Godson son of John Dennison the like sume of Three pounds To my Goddaughter Sarah Rice daughter of John Rice the like sume of Three pounds To my Goddaughter Ann Giles daughter of William Giles the like sume of Three pounds To my Grandson and Godson Charles Prissick the like sume of Three pounds
All the rest residue and remainder of the said debt and other my personall whatsoever (my debts and funerall expences being first paid and discharged) I give and Bequeath the same to my said Grandson
Christopher Prissick and do nominate and appoint him the said Christopher Prissick sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament containing Two sheets of Paper sett my hand and Seal this seventh day of January in the ninth year of the Reign of our Soveraign Lord King George the second and in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and thirty five......
