Will of John Prissick of London/Brussels, Master in the Royal Navy.

I John Prissick No 8 Red Lion Square Holborn London in the County of Middlesex Master in the Royal Navy do this 8th day of September 1838 make this my last will and testament I give and bequeath unto my dear wife Eleanor Prissick the whole of my property personal and real household furniture plate linen &c for the term of her natural life subject to the herein mentioned conditions viz the payment of all my just debts and for which purpose I desire my house No9 Willow Street Vauxhall Road should be sold or otherwise disposed of on the death of my dear wife which may heaven long avert 

I give my china jars to my dear Niece Margaret Bennett should she be living if not they are to be at my dear wife's disposal My Turkish orders & dress at the same period to my Nephew and Godson Besford Bennett My gold Watch to my Nephew Charles Bennett my Swords Turkish pipes and nautical Instruments to my other Nephews William & Henry Bennett, as my dear wife may deem good. 

I give to my respected and valued friend Mr William Bennett of Standon Herts 5 pounds for a ring memorial and the same sum for the same purpose to dear friend Mary Rowland of Standon Herts and I recommend to the notice of my dear wife my Niece Margaret Rickards and Goddaughter Mary Prissick Fairfax And I do hereby appoint and constitute my dear wife Eleanor Prissick and Mr William Bennett of Standon Herts to be Executors for carrying this my last will and Testament into effect and I enjoin my dear wife to lose no time in laying her claim before the Lords of the Admiralty for her pension I hereby declare this my last will and Testament Witness my hand and seal this 8th day of september 1838 John Prissick Witness to the signature Richard Bennett Sarah Chambers

Appeared Personally Richard Bennett of Standon in the County of Hertford Gentleman and made oath that he is one of the attesting witnesses to the last will and Testament of John Prissick formerly of No 8 Red Lion Square Holborn in the county of Middlesex but late of the City of Brussels & Master in the Royal Navy deceased bearing date the eighth day of September one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight hereunto annexed and he further made oath that on the 8th day of September one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight aforesaid the said deceased duly executed his said will by signing his name at the foot or end thereof in the presence of this deponent and of Sarah Chambers Spinster the other attesting witness thereto who were then together present at the same time with the said deceased and this deponent and the said Sarah Chambers thereupon attested and subscribed the said will in the presence of the said testator and of each Richard Bennett On the 26th day of June in the year of our Lord 1841 the said Richard Bennett was duly sworn to the truth of this affidavit before me S Addams

Proved at London 1st July 1841 before the worshipful Thomas Blake Doctor of Laws and Surrogate by the oath of William Bennett one of the Executors to whom Admon was granted having been first sworn duly to administer power reserved of making the like grant to Eleanor Prissick Widow the relict the other executor when she shall apply for the same.
