WILL & INVENTORY OF John Prissick, Tanner, Carlton in Cleveland, Yorks.

Dated 9.9.1731, proved at York 26.1.1731


In the name of God Amen. I John Prissick of Carlton in Cleveland in the County of York Tanner being sick of body but of sound and perfect mind and memory and calling to remembrance the uncertainty of this transetory life doe make and ordaine this my Last Will and Testament, First and princepally I recommend my soul to him that gave it hopeing for the mercy of Almighty God our Heavenly Father and his ever Blessed Son Jesus Christ our Lord & Saviour to have pardon for all my sins and meet with a joyful Resurrection
I will that all my debts and funerall expence be paid and discharged by my Executor hereinafter named Then I give to my Son John Dennison and Dorothy his wife sixty pounds to be paid to them twelve months after my decease alsoe I give to my five grand children namely John & Thomas Elizabeth, Dorothy, and Ann Dennison (being the children of the above named John and Dorothy Dennison) one Hundred pound to be equally devied share and share alike when each of them attains to the age of twenty one years or day of marriage which shall first & my will is that the said sum of one Hundred pound be paid into the hand of my said son Jno Dennison within twelve months after my decease & he to have the use of it till his said children attain the age of twenty one yeares or marry as aforesaid 

Also I give to my daughter Mary Prissick all my Estate of housing Lands and Tennements in Faceby in Cleveland in the County of York Lately purchased of the Right Hon'able the Earle of Carlisle Alsoe I give to my said daughter Mary Prissick the sum of one Hundred pounds to be paid to her within twelve months after my decease provided she accepts of the said sum in full for cash my self & son reced for wages due to Her from the Heirs or Executors of Sir Hen' Marwood Bart.. deceased. 

Alsoe I give to my Grandchildren Edmond & Ann Prissick being the Children of my Son George Prissick & Ann his wife Forty pounds to be equally devided when they attaine the Age of twenty one years or day of marriage wheche shall first happen 

I give to Madam Sarah Prissick my sister and to each of her children a guinea apiece to buy a ring, 

Alsoe I give to my sisters Mary Prissick Catherine Braithwaite and Jaine Smith Each of them a guinea to buy a ring 

alsoe I give to my good friends Mrs Eliz Rayne & Mrs Elizabth Taylor both of Northallerton Each a guinea to buy.... 

all the rest of my estate reale and Personall & all my good and chattles whatsoever I give to my Son George Prissick & doe make my sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament as witness my hand and seale this 9 day of September 1731
