Will of Elizabeth Preswicke, Manfield, Yorks. Widow.

Dated [not known], proved 7.5.1633 at York (vol 42, f.739).



I Elizabeth Preswicke of Manfeild widdow sicke in body but perfect in memory thanks bee to God for it do make this my Last will and testament as followeth Imprimis

first I bequeath my soule unto the hands of Almighty God my maker hopinge to bee saved through the merritts of my saviour Jesus Christ And my body to bee buride within the churchyard of Manfeild aforesaid 

It I give to my brother John Newton Twenty pound

It I give to his sonne Thomas Newton Tenn pound

It I give to the daughter of John Newton Alyse Readhead five pounds

It I give to my sister Margaret Nicholsonne Twenty pound and all my houshould stuffe Exceptinge one white happinge which my brother John Newton shall use for his Life and then it shalbe returned back againe to his Sonne Richard Newton with all I will that my sister Margaret shall give him out of the houshold stuffe one great pott one Littell kettell one paire of sheets one Covercloth which Anne Newton hath nowe in Occupation and a peece of new greene Cloth to make hir a Coate on and one Little kyrne together with a Carte

It I give to the power of Manfeild forty shillings to bee distributed att my buriall

It to all the Children which I was at their baptizinge Twelve pence a peece and to Bartholomew Robinson towe shillings

It I give to my mayd servant Jane Taylforth five shillings

It I give to the poore of Manfeild that five and twenty pounds which is in the hands of Robert Wilson to disposed on accordinge to the advice of Mr John Witham Esquier Mr Maior Norton gent and the minister and Churchwardens for the good of the sayd parish for ever

It I make Richard Newton my brother sonne and Bartholomew Nicholson my sister sonne Joynt Executors of this my Last will and testament as Witnesseth my hand and seale the day and yeare above written;

witnesses hereof Christofer Carter jur Nicholas Sponer jur Thomas Milles jur Thomas Smith

debts which is owen to the Testator for which shee hath nether bill nor bond

Imprimis owen to her by Henry Cuthbertson the younger Tenn pounds
It owen to hir by George French one pound
It owen hir by Edward Raynard Tenn pounds
It owen hir by Dorothy Potter Three pounds
It owen hir by Ralph Raynard three pound
It owen hir by Anthony Middleton three pounds and three shillings
It John Foster Twenty shillings
It John Lockey Forty shillings
It William Pearith two pound two shillings
It Thomas Westwood two pound
It Marmaduke Cockrell sixteene shillings
It his sonne Thirteene shillings fower pence and Dorothy tenn pence
It owen by Robert Wilson of Manfeild Twenty five pound
