Will of Mary Porret, Sherinton, Co. Durham, Widow.

 

Dated 16.4.1776, proved 1776 at Durham.

 

In the name of God Amen the sixteenth day of April and In the year of our Lord one thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Six, Mary Porret of the Parrish of Sherinton In the County of Durham, being Sick in Body But in Good and perfick Memory, thanks to God for it, Do make this my last Will and testament, and Do Dispose of all and Every other thing as following...

First I Desire that their may be a just Inventory taken of all and Ever thing that Belongs to me By George Porrit and Henry Prissick or Who they shall appoint, (....?) of Cattle Horses Money Good Debts and Every other thing, and then Each of my Children to have an Equal Share, Save my Eldest Son Christopher to have seventy pounds above the Rest, Account to be made by my Daughter Jane of what She has had which I desire may be made Equall to the rest of my Children, Allso An Account to be Given by my Daughter Mary of all an Every Valuable that she has had, which if it is Less to be made up Equall to the Rest of my Children, my Son Christopher I appoint my Executor, and to Have the farm and Every Other thing, and to Pay to all my Children their due proportions When they arrive at the age of one two or three and twenty Just as my Trustees shall think Proper without Intrist, If any of my Children should Dye before they arrive at twenty one years of age Such part to be Equally Divided Amongst the Rest of my Children, Allso if any of my Childer should Go to Place, be Put out An Apprentice the Intrist of their Portion to find them what Clothes or other Necessarys they may want

I Desire and appoint my brother Henry and George Porrit to See that Everything be performed according to the true Intent and Meaning of the above Wrighting

I Deliver this to be my Last Will and testement As witness my Hand and Seall the Day and year Above mentioned Mary Porrit (her mark)
