January the 29th 1678,In the name of God amen I, Jane Porrett of Liverton in the County of Yorke widdow being weake of body, but of good and perfect remembrance ,blessed be godd, doe make this my last will and testament in manner and forme following.
first I give my soule into the hands of almighty god.& my body to be buryed att the discretion of my executor hereafter named, and as for my worldly estate I dispose of it as followeth.
first I give unto John Lickers my son in law and Dorothy his wife the sume of five poundes:
Alsoe I give unto William Hartas and Elizabeth his wife the like sume of five poundes. both of the said legacyes to be paid them within one year after my decease,
Alsoe I give unto Margarett Porrett daughter of my sonne Thomas Porrett one cupboard t is now standing in the parlour, as a legacy,
And alsoe I give unto Jane the daughter of John Lickey my best gowne as a legacy. and a bed wch is now att Easingwood att her fathers house, And as for the other small things wch I have att Easingwood I give unto the the rest of John Lickey children.
- Alsoe I give unto Robert Porrett sonne of my sonne Thomas Porrett three ewes
- and alsoe I give unto Jane the daughter of William Hartas, one bedstead and a coffer, wch I have att this Towne,
Alsoe I give unto Elizabeth Hartas and to her children one Gowne and all the rest of my wearing apparell except one green apron.
- Alsoe I give unto Elizabeth Porrett my kinswoman one blacksued cuyffe
And all the rest of my
estate as well moveable as unmoveable bills bonds and debts (my
funerall expenses defrayed) I give unto Thomas (jurat) Porrett my
sonne whom I make sole executor of this my last will hereby
disannullinge & makeing voyd all other wills, and doe proclaime this
to be my last will witness my hand & seale the day and yeare above
written-
