In the name of God Amen I John Porrett of Whitby in the County of York Mariner being well in health but considering the dangers of the seas & other uncertaintys of this life do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner following First I will order and direct that all my just debts and funeral expences be fully paid and discharged by my executrix hereinafter named
ALSO I give and bequeath all and singular my goods chattles wages wearing apparell as well woolen as linnen plate money rings securitys for money and all my other personall estate of what nature or kind soever the same be or
wheresoever to be found unto my loving mother Jane Porrett of Newton Mulgrave in the Parish of Lyth and said County of York widow whom I do hereby make ordain and constitute sole executrix of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former and other will and wills by me at any time or times heretofore made and do ratify and confirm this only to be my last will and testament IN TESTIMONY whereof I the said
John Porrett have hereunto sett my hand and seal this twentieth day of May in the ninth year of the reign of our sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith etc. and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and thirty six
