In the Name of God Amen I Francis Porret of Aisleby the parish of Whitby in the County of York. being of sound and perfect memory, do make this my last Will and testament in manner and form following - (that is to say ) it is my Will and request that my body be decently buried, and that all my funerall Charges and just Debts by me Heretofore or hereafter contracted be paid by my Executrix and Exe'r hereafter mentioned, as also all other the following Legacies hereafter left,
First I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary Cooper Wife to Willm. Cooper of Whitby Seaman the sum of five Pounds -
Item I give unto my Son Isaac Porret the sum of ten Pounds,
Item I give unto my Daughter Susannah Porret the sum of Twelve Pounds -
Item I give unto my Daughter Elizabeth Porret the sum of fifteen Pounds, and it is my Will that the above Legacies be paid unto my four Children aforementioned at the Expiration of one year from or after my decease,
Also I give and bequeath unto my three Children William Margaret and Martha Porret each the sum of fifteen Pounds of Lawfull Money of Great Brittain, to be paid unto them when they shall respectfully arrive at the age of twenty one Years, and further it is my Will that if any of four first herein mentioned Children shall die within twelve months after my Decease, or any of my three Children (viz) Wm. Margaret and Martha should happen to die within the space of twelve months or before they or any of them shall attain the Age of Twenty one Years, then the share or shares of such person or persons so dieing as aforesaid it is my Will that such sum or sums as is heretofore given and bequeathed to them, shall be Equally divided equal share and share alike amongst the survivors of my Children,
I also give and bequeath unto my Dearly Beloved Wife Mary Porret for and during the term of her natural Life one Close or field commonly known by the Name of Great Holm, Scituate and being in the Parish of Skelton in the County of York aforesaid And also my Will is that after the decease of my Wife that the said field or Close commonly known by the name Great Holm aforesaid shall be sold and that the Money arising from the sale thereof shall be equally divided amongst my Children that then shall be alive or if dead then it is my Will that the share or shares of such so dieing shall descend to their issue if any be,
Item I give unto my Wife all my household Stuff Household furniture of what name or kind soever for and During her Life and at her Decease it is my Will that it be equally divided share and share alike amongst my four Daughters Susannah Elizabeth Margaret and Martha Porret or the survivor or Survivors of them I also give unto my said Wife for and during the term one half of Stock of Cattle (viz) Horses, Beasts,or Horned Cattle and sheep and for her to dispose of them at her Discease as she shall think most proper
Item I give unto my Son Thos Porret the residue and remaining half of my Stock of Horses, Beasts, and sheep, and all my husbandry Geer
And lastly I nominate and appoint my
sd. Wife and said son Thomas Porret joint Executrix and Executor of
this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and disannulling, all
other former Will or Wills heretofore by me made Publishing and
declaring this to be my only Will and Tesment In Witness whereof I
have set my hand and seal this Twenty Eight Day of March in the Year
of our Lord One thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty one
