NOTE: The name of the testator in the contemporary copy, which this is a transcript of, is clearly 'Parrett', but the contents make it clear that the testator is one of the Scarbrough 'Porretts'
In the name of God Amen I Elizabeth Parrett of Scarbrough in the County of York Widow being by the blessing of God of perfect Mind and Sound Memory do make and ordain this as and for my last will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say
first I give and bequeath unto my Son William Parrett my Geat bible and my Gold Ring
also I give and bequeath unto my daughter Ann Coulson my half part of a pew situate in the North Isle of St. Marie's Church in Scarbrough aforesaid two pairs of sheets and three Table Cloths
also I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Sturdy my half part of a pew in the [?East Loft?] in St. Maries Church in Scarbrough aforesaid all my wearing apparel and household furniture except such as are herein specifically disposed of
Also I give and bequeath unto my Grand daughter Betty Porrett a feather Bed Bolster and Two Pillows thereunto belonging and two pairs of sheets
also I give and bequeath unto my Grand daughter Sarah Porrett a feather bed bolster and two pillows there unto belonging two pairs of sheets and a Mahogany desk
also I give and bequeath unto my Grand Son William Porrett a silver Spoon marked WE
also I give and bequeath unto my Grand Son Coulson Porrett a Silver Spoon marked RP
Lastly all the rest and residue of my Good Chattles and personal Estate of what nature kind or Quality soever or wheresoever which I am now or shall be possessed of interested in or intitled to at my decease I give and bequeath unto her my said daughter
Sarah Sturdy her Executors Administrators or Assigns for ever and do hereby nominate make constitute and Appoint her Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former and Other Wills and Testaments by me at any time heretofore made in witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal the Eighth day of November One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty.
