In the name of God Amen. I Christopher Porritt of Scarbrough in the County of Yorke Baker being in good health of Body & of sound & perfect mind & memory praise be therefore given to Allmighty God; doe make & ordaine this my Present last will & Testament In manner & forme followinge (that is to say);
First & principally I Commend my Soule into the hands of Allmighty God Hopeinge through the merits, Death & passion of my Saviour Jesus Christ to have full & free pardon & forgiveness of all my Sins; and Inherit Everlastinge life; And my body I comit to the earth & to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executrix here after named. And as touchinge the Disposition of all Such temperall Estate As it hath pleased Allmighty God to bestow upon me I give & dispose thereof as followeth
Imprimis I will that my Debts & funerall charges shall be paid and discharged.
It. I give & bequeath unto Elliner Porritt my neece bed roome bedstead & bedinge soe longe as she keepeth Single & likewise dureinge my loveinge wife life naturall & also after the decease of my loveinge wife I will yt ten Shillings be given her out of this my now dwellinge house whosoever shall be the owner thereof for & dureinge her the said Elliner Porritt my neece her life naturall.
It I give & bequeath unto my loveinge wife Elizabeth Porritt whome I doe make my full & Sole Executrix of this my last will & testament all my Goods and Chattels moveable & unmoveable.
It. I give & bequeath ( as followeth on the other side of this leafe )unto the afore Said Elliner Porritt my neece one Iron pott holdinge one gallon & a halfe or their abouts.
It. I give & bequeath unto my loveinge wife all this my now dwellinge house with Stables & Garths and all things thereunto belongeinge or in any wise apperteyneinge for her my loveinge wife life naturall; & after the decease of her my loveinge wife to Francis Porritt my nephew of Great Skeaylinge in Cleiveland in the County of Yorke yoman; & Richard Iningson of Scarbrough in the afore Said County Courdwinder & to them & their heires for ever payinge eyther of them five pounds to my said loveinge wife at or before three months after my decease & alsoe payinge ten shillings yearely & every yeare by eaven & equall portions to the said Elliner Porritt my neece dureinge her life naturall
And if the said Francis Porritt be not soe pleased as to pay five pounds to my said loveinge wife wthin the time above limitted after my decease then my will & desire is that he the said Richard Iningson Shall pay ten pounds to my said loveinge wife & ten shillings to the said Elliner Porritt my neece yearely & every yeare dureinge her life naturall.
It. Lastly my will & desire is yt my body may be deacently buried in St. Mary's Churche yeard of Scarbrough And I doe alsoe hereby revoke, disanull & make voyd all former wills & testaments by me heretofore maid
In witness whereof I the said Christopher Porritt to this my last will & testament (beinge conteyned in half a sheet of payper ) Sett my hand & seale the nyne & twentyth day of november in the yeare of our Lord God 1679
