Will of Christopher Fairfoot Porritt, Berwick on Tweed, House Agent and County Court Bailiff.

This is the last will and testament of me Christopher Fairfoot Porritt of Berwick upon Tweed in the County of the Town and Borough of Berwick upon Tweed House agent and County Court Bailiff I give and bequeath unto my daughter Catherine Judith Greaves Denham my Gold Watch I give and bequeath all my household furniture plate plated goods linen china and pictures and all the rest residue and remainder of my personal and effects after payment of my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses unto my wife Grace Ann absolutely 

All my real and copyhold estate I devise unto my wife Grace Ann during her life or widowhood and from or immediately after her decease or remarriage I devise the same in manner following that is to say I devise unto my son William John Denham his heirs and assigns All my copyhold houses premises and yard with the appurtenances late belonging to William Dawson situate in and being number 13 Middle Street of Spittle in the manor of Tweedmouth and Spittle in the County of the Borough and Town aforesaid And also that my copyhold with the appurtenances situate in the Cow Road in Spittle aforesaid purchased by me from George Robertson and others I devise to my son Christopher Hamilton Porritt his heirs and assigns All that my freehold messuage and premises with the yard and appurtenances being number 59 Walkergate Lane Berwick upon Tweed aforesaid and formerly belonging to John Renton And also my copyhold messuage and premises with the appurtenances being number 10 Knowe Head in Tweedmouth aforesaid and late belonging to J Hall I devise unto my daughter Jane Denham wife of Thomas Thompson of Berwick upon Tweed aforesaid Butcher her heirs and assigns All that my freehold messuage and premises with the appurtenances being number 23 Golden Square in Berwick upon Tweed aforesaid and purchased by me from Magdalen Dixon And all that my freehold messuage and premises with the appurtenances being number 7 Palace Street in Berwick upon Tweed aforesaid and formerly belonging to James Turner I devise to my daughter Mary Matilda Porritt her heirs and assigns All that my freehold messuage and premises with the appurtenances being number 101 in Castlegate in Berwick upon Tweed aforesaid And also all that my copyhold messuage and premises being number 7 Middle Street in Spittle aforesaid and formerly belonging to James Purves I devise unto my said daughter Catherine Judith Greaves Denham Porritt her heirs and assigns All those my freehold messuages and premises with the appurtenances being numbers 17, 19, 21, 23, & 25 in the West End of Tweedmouth aforesaid and formerly respectively belonging to John Marshall and Miss Fair I devise unto my daughter Henrietta Porritt her heirs and assigns All that my freehold messuages and premises with the appurtenances being numbers 21 and 23 Ravensdowne in Berwick upon Tweed aforesaid and late belonging to Archibald Knox and others And also all that my copyhold messuage and premises with the yard and appurtenances being number 15 Middle Street in Spittle aforesaid and late belonging to Mrs Davison.........................................
