Will of Catherine Porritt, Whitby, N. Yorks, Widow. 

Dated  27.12.1768, proved 8.2.1772 at York.

The last Will and Testament of me Catharine Porritt of Whitby in the County of York widow in manner following that is to say 

whereas my Nephew Isaac Stockton of Whitby in the County of York Master Mariner is with me become bound for the due execution of my late Husband will now for his care and trouble therein and also to make him some recompence for his not being mentioned as a legatee in my said late Husbands will and in order to enable him to perform and fulfil my said late Husbands will I Give and bequeath unto the said Isaac and to his Executors and Administrators respectively all such of my Effects as shall be found in my possession at the time of my decease and I do desire that my said Nephew Isaac Stockton will be Overseer of and superintend as well the execution of this my last will and Testament as of the last will and Testament of my late Husband Jonathan Porritt deceased and to desire and recommend that the relations and Legatees mentioned in my late Husbands will will be directed by and observe the prudent orders and directions of the said Isaac Stockton 

AND LASTLY I do hereby make nominate constitute and appoint my Nephews Thomas Lotherington of Whitby in the County of York Master Mariner my Nephew Jonathan Lacy of Spittlebridge in the parish of Whitby aforesaid Roper and my late Husbands Nephew Francis Dobson of Staiths in the Parish of Hinderwel in the said County of York Blacksmith Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former and other will or Wills by me at any time heretofore made or Published In Witness whereof I the said Catherine Porritt have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty seventh day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Sixty Eight
