In the name of God Amen I Alice Porrett of Scarbrough in the County of York widow being aged and infirm in body but of sound & perfect mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will & testam't in manner following that is to say
First I give and devise unto my daughter Elizabeth the wife of Robert Gowland & to her heirs and assigns for ever All those two messuages tenem'ts or dwelling houses adjoining upon Long Greese steps in Scarbrough aforesaid now or late in the occupacone of Thomas Williamson & Francis Palmer with all the appurtences to the same belonging All that close of meadow or pasture ground with appurtences in Scarbrough aforesaid adjoining upon Fowler Gate All that close of meadow or pasture ground with appurtences in Scalby in the said County of York All those two other several messuages tenem'ts or dwelling houses scituate & being in Scarbrough aforesaid in a street there called Key Street now in the occupacons of Mary Duesberry & Alice Gibson with appurtences & all that close of meadow or pasture ground called Wreay close now in the occupacon of Marmaduke Blakeston & all that other close of meadow or pasture ground called the Lower Fountain or Brick Garth now in the occupacon of Joseph Bull one of which closes last mentioned lyes in Scarbrough aforesaid & the other in Falsgrave in the parish of Scarbrough aforesaid with appurtences all which said premises were devised or intended so to be to my said daughter Elizabeth Gowland & her heirs in and by my late husband's will but as I was joined with my said late husband in the several purchase deeds of the same premises and am thereby become seized thereof in fee by survivorship therefore I do give and devise the same as above for the confirming and compleating of my said husband's intentions
Also all the rest residue and remainder of my estate whatsoever both real and personal I give devise and bequeath unto my said daughter Elizabeth Gowland and unto my daughter Ann the wife of John Carr and to their respective heirs exec'rs and adm'rs equally to be divided
And lastly I do appoint my said daughters Elizabeth Gowland & Ann Carr joint executrixes of this my will In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Fifth day of April One Thousand Seven Hundred and Thirty Nine
