Administration: Mary Porritt of Dalton Piercy, Co. Durham

Know all Men by these presents that we John Porritt of Houghton le Spring in the County of Durham farmer George Porritt of the parish of Gilling in the County of York farmer and Henry Porritt of the parish of Grindon in the said county of Durham farmer three of the four sons and next of kin of Mary Porritt late of Dalton Piercy in the said county of Durham widow deceased do hereby for divers good causes and considerations us thereunto especially moving expressly renounce all our right and title in and to the administration of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said Mary Porritt our said late Mother and to the end that this our renunciation may have its due effect in Law we do hereby nominate constitute and appoint Simon Tyas of the City of York gentleman one of the proctors General and exercent in all the Ecclesiastical Courts at York to be our true and lawful Proctor for us and in our names to appear before the Right Worshipful Peter Johnson Master of Arts Commissary and Keeper General of the Exchequer and Prerogative court of York his surrogate or any other competent judge in this behalf than and there to exhibit this our Renunciation and procure the same to be admitted and enacted and generally to do whatever else may be needful and necessary to be done for us and in our names in and about the premises And whatsoever our said Proctor shall lawfully do or cause to be done herein we do hereby promise to ratify confirm and allow for valid In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this sixth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety three..

DECLARATION:

A declaration instead of an Inventory of the Goods and Chattels which were of Mary Porritt late of Dalton Piercy in the County of Durham ( having Bona Notabilia ) widow deceased made by Christopher Porritt the Son and sole administrator of the said Deceased

The said Administrator hereby declares that to the best of his knowledge and belief the personal Estate & effects of the said Mary Porritt would not at the time of his (sic) death amount to above one hundred pounds Chrisr Porritt
