Will of Thomas Pettey, Mickleby, Lyth, Yorks. Farmer.

Dated 19.5.1803, proved 26.5.1804 at York.


Thomas Petey of the township of Mickiliby in the parish of Lyth ...... County of York Farmour do make this my Last Will and Testament as followeth that is to say 

I give and bequeath to my Doughter Elizabeth Petey the sum of Twenty Pounds to my Doughter Ruth Petey Twenty Pounds the above named Legacis to bee paid when thay become Twenty one years old 

I also give and bequeath to my Doughter Mary Harlond the sum of Five pounds to Hannah Knags my Doughter The sum of Five pounds to my Doughter Jane Porite the Sum of Five pounds to my Doughter Ann Harlond the Sum of Five pounds all the above Named Five pounds Legacies to bee paid the year end after my Death by my Executors heir after named 

Also I give and bequeath to Ruth my Beloved wife with Thomas Petey and Christforth Petey my Sons whome I make my joint And sole Executors of this my Last Will and Testament all money Due to me upon Nots or Bonds or in aney other way also all boath Live and Deade Stock upon the premises now Ocupied by me I give And bequeath to my above named Executors Except my husband Geare & Carts Wagons and all the Utensils now yousid by me in Husbandy which I give to my two sons Thomas Petey and Christforth Petey 

Also I give to Ruth my beloved Wife all my houshold Goods with in this Hous where I now dwell to be at her Disposal Confirming This and no other to bee my Last Will and Testament in Witness Whearof I have set my Hand and seal this Nineteen day of May in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred and thre

I do hereby certify that on teh 26th day of May in the year of our Lord 1804, Ruth Pettey, widow, and relict of Thomas Pettey, of Mickleby in the parish of Lyth in the county of York & Thomas Pettey and Christopher Pettey of the parish of Lyth aforesaid, Farmers, sons and joint executors, named in this the last Will and Testament of Thomas Pettey late of Mickleby aforesaid in the Diocese of York, Farmer, deceased, were sworn well and truly to execute and perform the same: and that the whole of the Goods, Chattels, and credits of the said deceased, within the Diocese of York do not amount in value to the sum of Three Hundred Pounds Witness my Hand Joseph Robertson Surrogate
