Will of Susannah Pressick Clermont
 of Brighton, Sussex.

Dated 14.1.1836, proved 12.3.1836 at London.


This is the last Will and testament of me Susannah Pressick Clermont now residing at No. 62 in Preston Street in Brighton in the County of Sussex Widow. I direct that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expences shall be paid and discharged as soon as conveniently may be after my decease. I desire to be buried in a plain strong oaken coffin and request that my remains may be deposited in the Burial Ground of the Quakers or Society of Friends adjoining their Meeting House in Ship Street in Brighton aforesaid and that my funeral shall be conducted without ostentation or unnecessary expence I hereby give and bequeath unto the Reverend Joseph Turnbull of Ruell House in Chester Road in Brighton aforesaid all and every my .... stocks funds and securities for money ..... in the hands of my Bankers Messieurs ......ndo and Co. of Charing Cross London and all other my Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever to hold the same unto him the said Joseph Turnbull and his Executors Admors and Assigns successors and Appointees Upon Trust to invest the same in the parliamentary funds or in such other freehold Government or good and approved security as he may think best for yielding the greatest amount of annual interest and profit and to apply the same from time to time as received toward the maintenance and education of female Orphan children of the age of Seven years and upward being the children of virtuous parents with a view to their being brought up as domesticated Gentlewomen and in Trust further for the relief and benefit of Widows being virtuous and deserving characters if not less than fifty five years of age such objects of my charity to be selected by my said Executor and Trustee without regard to Religious denomination and continued at his discretion 

And it is my Will that the said Joseph Turnbull should by a legal instrument made in agreement with the terms of this my Will appoint within six months after my decease a suitable and discreet person as Co Executor and Trustee with him for the due performance of my Will And that the survivor of them shall within six months from the decease of the other Trustee appoint another such person in his stead and so successively as death or other casualties may continue so that there may be always two Co Executors and Trustees at least for carrying into effect the purposes of this my Will hereafter for ever And I hereby nominate and appoint the said Joseph Turnbull sole Executor of this my Will And hereby revoking and declaring void all former and all other Wills and testamentary documents do declare this alone to be my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I the said Susannah Pressick Clermont the Testatrix do now set my hand and seal this fourteenth day of January in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and thirty six S P Clermont
