Letter of [J.S. Walton], Northallerton to Messrs. Exley and Stockers, Furnival's Inn, London discussing the Prissick business, 20 June 1809

Dear William

It appears from the ...... made that Chr: Prissick conveyed the premises in question (excepting a cottage & Garth conveyed by Henry Prissick to Reeve by the genl words) to his Son Henry Prissick who has since sold the whole off, it does not appear how Henry became seised of the Cottage and Garth, which must belong I think to Henry's eldest Brother.

I sent over to Carlton to make all the Enquiries I could and find the present tenants are as follow; for the Houses Mattw Powell (the present owner of them) Benjamin Robinson & William Garbutt, and for the remaining Cottage not conveyed by C. Prissick, Michl Peart. The occupiers of the 3 Fields are Mary Ecles Josh. Reeves Esq: & Mattw Wake. Henry Prissick they say is possessed of considerable personalty, but bears a very indifferent character.

My charges altogether amount to £2 14s 0d which Master Thompson will be so obliging as to pay you

I am Dear William Your sincere Friend
