of William Porrett of Scarbrough, Master & Mariner 15.4.1724
- in and before the month of June 1722 was comander of the Good Ship Primrose of Scarbrough
- involved in the coal trade between Newcastle and London
- Andrew Dick (defendant) was a Hoastman in Newcastle
- dispute concerns the contract & payments for the delivery of a shipment of coal from Newcastle to London in July 1722
- in particular on William Porrett's claim that he should not be responsible for the payment of duty on the shipment
- claims that John Jones was employed as a Coal Factor by the defendant
